ABC International Dossier Services, Inc. was started by a new mom who found that while international adoption was the perfect choice for their family, getting through the seemingly endless and confusing process of putting together a dossier for the first time was not.

After adopting her daughter from China, Pam decided to do something to help other families going through the hassle of dossier preparation. That help became the personal, professional service bureau, ABC International Dossier Services, Inc. Our goal is simple: take the stress and hassle out of the process, so families can enjoy the process of creating their family, not worry about the process of creating their dossier.

No matter what country or adoption agency you choose, no matter what U.S. state you live in, we’re here for you. We’ll make sure your paperwork is in order and done as quickly as possible.

The Process

It’s simple. Once you’ve chosen your adoption agency, call or email us to schedule a free consultation. Once we know your country and agency, we’ll create a timeline and a document schedule.

From there, we’ll start compiling the elements of your dossier, and let you know what you’ll be required to provide our staff.

What does dossier preparation include?

For our basic dossier preparation package of just $400, you will receive:

Complete dossier preparation and packaging for submitting to your adoption agency.
Email notification when each step is complete, so you always know what’s happening with your dossier.
Every item on your adoption agency’s dossier check list will be completed as quickly and expeditiously as the various bureaucracies allow.
Notarization of up to 10 documents, including travel (only within the Jacksonville, FL area, please ask us about how we obtain notarization services where you live)
Certification/apostille of documents by the appropriate Secretary of State.
Authentication of all documents by the appropriate foreign Consulate or Embassy.
Preparation of family photos for dossier, if required. (Photographers available upon request for an additional fee in the Jacksonville area.)
Additional copy of your completed dossier in a presentation binder, with labeled page-protected documents.
Your originals will be assembled and returned to you in the order your agency requires you to submit them. We can submit the documents to your agency for you.

Additional charges:

Your dossier preparation does NOT include additional fees by outside agencies or governments. This includes all fees charged to obtain Vital Records (birth & marriage certificates, divorce decrees, etc.), or charges by the Secretary of State, Foreign Consulate or Embassy, custom courier fees, or any express mail charges incurred. We will always provide you with the current cost of each service. We never mark up or take commission on these fees, and we do not receive any discounts or compensation from any outside agencies, governments, consulates, or the like.

Obtain Vital Records

For a nominal fee, we can obtain Vital Records from any city or county in the State of Florida through the Florida Office of Vital Statistics. Please speak with or email our office staff about your needs for exact pricing and wait times.

Traveling Notary Services:

Jacksonville area only:

Notarization of applicable documents and travel to notarize applicable documents is included for registered clients actively compiling their dossiers with our service. Notary and traveling notary services are available to non-clients for an $25 per-visit fee. Please contact our office for availability.

Mandarin Chinese Translations

We’ll translate documents, letters - whatever is needed - for a fee of $20 per page. Whether you’re translating English to Chinese for documents or sending a letter to your child’s orphanage, caregiver, or foster care parents;, or translating Chinese to English for correspondence you’ve received, we’ll make sure it’s ready as quickly as possible. This service is also available if you’ve completed your adoption and have received untranslated documents when receiving your child in China.
